Letters to Thomas Grantham, [18th century].

Manuscripts, in a single hand, of 30 copies of letters to Grantham, accompanied by Grantham's replies, dated between April 17 and September 15, 1691. The letters debate religious controversies such as the possibility of raising opposition to the established national church and the meanings of such words as "angel" and "apostle." The letters, however, primarily address controversies concerning the sacrament of baptism, especially the baptism of infants and the practice of sprinkling instead of dipping.
